Stand On It
“… for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the land.. but a mist went from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.”
Genesis 2:5-6
Build On It
Rain has many connections in Scripture. Each one a reminding us of how God uses the natural to speak truth. Rain is a powerful symbol of God’s rest. It represents refreshing, renewal, provision, and blessing, all tied to obedience and trust in Him.
There is an art in being. A rhythm of grace.
As we sow, we rest.
As we rest, we wait.
And in waiting, we receive.
Even from the beginning, before rain ever fell, God caused vegetation to grow.
“...for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the land... but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.”
— Genesis 2:5–6
This reminds us that God's provision is not limited to visible means. Growth happens when He is at work, not just when we see the signs. Just as the land cannot force the rain but flourishes when it comes, we flourish when we remain in God and receive His rest.
Rain teaches us to stop striving and to surrender.
It teaches us to trust the unseen and to embrace the stillness.
It is a reminder that rest is not weakness—it is worship.
